Matt Callison's Sports Medicine Acupuncture Foundational Course:

Low Back and Leg Pain (Yao Tui Tong): An Emphasis on Sciatica & Paresthesia Pain Patterns

One of the most challenging aspects of a clinician’s work is to accurately determine the primary tissue in lesion causing the patient’s low back and leg pain. In order to achieve the best treatment result for patient rehabilitation, it is imperative the practitioner determines the proper diagnosis.

Orthopedic evaluations, manual muscle testing and knowledge of anatomy and acupuncture channel topography are essential in helping the practitioner establish the source of the patient’s low back and leg pain. Paresthesia traveling into the hip and lower extremity is not always nerve related (sciatica), and this seminar will help the practitioner identify, diagnose and treat the underlying source creating  these excess (shi) and deficient (xu) referred pain patterns.

This seminar identifies muscle and pelvic imbalances typically found in cases of sciatica and referred pain.  Treatment protocols include acupuncture to motor, trigger and acupuncture points, myofascial mobilization techniques and postural exercises that together will help the practitioner get the patient out of pain and provide long-lasting results.

This will be a hands on seminar.  Matt Callison will be bringing assistants to make sure every attendee gets one on one attention and supervision. Please email MAAOM at maaomstaff@gmail.com if you would like to bring a massage table to help support the event.
